  Concrete ground pumps, also called concrete line pumps or fixed concrete pump, place concrete via the extended pipelines running along the ground. Actually, the ground line pump can reach 150 meters vertically and more than 1000 meters horizontally.
  
  If you are undertaking commercial concrete projects, the concrete pump machine is a better solution. Or, when you are working on residential constructions involving concrete infusion, it is also bettter to use concrete ground pump rather than a wheelbarrow.
  
  Here are mainly three different types of concrete ground pump: Concrete trailer pump, concrete mixer pump, truck-mounted concrete pump (here refer as the static pump with a truck chassis).
  
  Concrete trailer pump and truck-mounted concrete pump are similar. Both of them need an extra mixer truck to discharge the ready mixed concrete to the hopper of the pump machine.
  
  First, the concrete pump will suck concrete material out of the hopper into the pumping system. Later, it will push concrete into the pipelines through S-Valve.
  
  The concrete mixer with a pump is able to mix cement by itself because it has a mixer drum. Therefore, it doesn’t need another large mixer truck to convey wet concrete.
  
  The work of mixing and pumping on-site saves much time and labor.

  For a more technical answer as to how a concrete pump works, I'll explain how an S-tube valve system works.
  
  The operation of the concrete pump involves the use of hydraulic and electrical systems. This system incorporates material cylinders linked to hydraulic cylinders that cycle alternately. With concrete mix in the hopper and the pump operating, a material cylinder retracts, drawing material into the cylinder.
  
  At full retraction of the cylinder, a signal is sent to both the S-tube swing cylinder and the drive cylinder directional valves causing the S-tube to shift position to the fully loaded material cylinder and the drive cylinders to change direction. The concrete piston of the loaded cylinder then pushes the material through the S-tube and into the delivery lines.
  
  how does a concrete pump truck work
  The shifting from one cylinder to the other cylinder takes place providing a continuous flow of concrete mix through the pump trucks concrete piping system. The pump can be operated at the control panel or can be operated from the remote control.
  
  The hydraulic oil flow created by the hydraulic pump pushes the drive cylinder pistons inside the drive cylinders alternately back and forth. Because the drive cylinders and concrete pistons inside the concrete cylinders are linked together, the pistons move synchronously.
  
  When a drive cylinder retracts along with the concrete piston, concrete will be sucked from the hopper into the concrete cylinder. Simultaneously, the other drive cylinder and concrete piston are extended toward the hopper. The concrete piston will push concrete from the concrete cylinders through the S-Tube and out to the concrete pipe and concrete hoses.
  
  Next, the pump switches at the end of the stroke, causing the s-tube valve to shift to the other concrete cylinder which has sucked and filled the cylinder with concrete, starting the next cycle.
  
  Reverse pumping links the concrete piston in the suction stroke and S-Tube valve to suck concrete from the s-tube instead of the hopper. As a result, the concrete piston pumps concrete back into the hopper. Reverse pumping is mostly used to clean out the concrete hoses after the pour is done.
  
  The power for operation of the concrete pump is provided by the engine, which drives the hydraulic pumps.All functions for operation of the concrete pump can be accomplished from the local controls mounted on the side of the pump truck. Optional hand-held cable or radio remote controls enable the pumping process to be operated from a remote distance. The concrete pump is designed to safely pump wet concrete through a delivery system of pipes and hoses within its published ratings and specifications.
  
  Safety and Stability of the concrete pump during operation is provided by the front and back outriggers. Controls for the outriggers are located on the sides of the concrete pump truck.

  A concrete pump is controlled by a skilled concrete pump operator. The pump operator controls the operation, position, and output of the pump by directing the boom or hose. The operator is also in charge of driving the pump to the job site, setting up the pump, cleaning the pump after use, and making any necessary repairs.
  
  Boom Pumps
  A boom pump uses a remote-controlled robotic arm (boom) attached to a truck or a semi-trailer to place large volumes of concrete with accuracy. The truck typically remains in one place for the entire pour as ready-mix trucks can unload concrete directly into the pump’s hopper.
  
  The hopper has an auger to churn the concrete and keep it liquid, along with a mesh grate to prevent large rocks and chunks from clogging the pump.
  
  The stationary central location of the truck on the job site allows for a more efficient traffic flow.
  
  Line Pumps
  A line pump (also known as a ground pump) is a trailer-mounted concrete pump or a truck-mounted pump that uses a series of steel or rubber hoses to lead and place concrete wherever it needs to go. And a concrete truck will also unload the concrete into the pump’s hopper.
  
  Both types of pumps use twin cylinder hydraulic pumps. One piston draws the liquid concrete from a hopper and into a cylinder while at the same time, the other piston pushes concrete out into the discharge pipes.
  
  A valve determines which piston is open to the concrete hopper and which is open to the discharge pipes by switching over each time the pistons reach the end of the cylinders. This valve mechanism allows each cylinder to alternate between drawing concrete and pushing concrete, pumping higher volumes of concrete and saving time.
  
  However, for a concrete pump to work, the concrete mix must be suitable for pumping. The concrete must have enough water for the mix to move easily through the pump and hoses. Otherwise, it can risk clogging the pump lines.
