| What is difference between backhoe and excavator? |

The main difference between the two machines is size — excavators are larger and heavier, while backhoes are slightly smaller. The excavator is typically a better fit for demolition projects, mining, driving piles, drilling shafts for rock blasting and overall large-scale industrial projects

Drilling machines and tapping machines are used to drill or thread holes in a surface. Drilling machines and tapping machines vary from the tiny bench machine used in the finest jeweler’s operation to the huge, heavy-duty machines that bore large holes in steel forgings at an astonishing rate. The most commonly used drilling machine is the vertical drilling machine known as a drill press. Proper selection of a drilling and tapping tool depends on the material to be tapered or drilled, the length of the thread to be formed, and the accuracy required. There are several types of tapping machines. Examples include a thread tapping machine and a pneumatic tapping machine. A thread tapping machine is used for tapping taper holes. A pneumatic tapping machine is a tapping machine that is driven by compressed air. Special drilling machines and tapping machines are used for wood, glass, and plastics for which standard machines cannot be used. Other drilling and tapping machines are commonly available.
Specifications
Drilling machines and tapping machines are made with a variety of specifications and function in several ways. In modern drilling and tapping machines, the surface to be drilled is either kept on a drill press table or a drill press vise. For drilling in a round shaft, a drill press vise is used while a drill press table is used for a shaft with a planar base. The speed of drills can be 5 to 6 m/min for high-temperature alloys that range up to 110 m/min for aluminum and magnesium alloys. A tapping machine is used for cutting inside the threads. The most commonly used tapping machine is a two-fluted, three-fluted, four-fluted, or helical-pointed. A tapping machine is used according to the material of the surface being drilled. Sizes of drilling machines and tapping machines range from 6 in. to 60 in. Drilling and tapping machines are designed and manufactured to meet most industry specifications.
Applications
Drilling machines and tapping machines are used in many applications, including heavy industries and engineering. Drilling machines and tapping machines enable a basic process carried out in a machine shop. Drilling and tapping machines are also used in furniture, automobile bodies, boats, shoe lasts, brush handles, and golf-club heads. Drilling machines and tapping machines are commonly used machines in automobile and aerospace industries. Drilling machines and tapping machines should be operated in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
